Giving way

The doctor enter the room laughing. Tramij's father lay on the bed dying of liver cancer, but found enough curiousity to ask, "Did you just hear a good joke?"

Tramij's father loved good jokes.

"No," replied the doctor, "I just witnessed a miracle!"

The doctor was the founder of the cancer center and had, for 22 years, seen all types of serious situations. What he had never seen, in all that time, was six spots of cancer on an 80-year-old man's liver – right in the middle of metastasizing – completely disappear.

"I've never seen anything like this in my 22 years here, but all your cancer is gone."

Tarmij's father took it all in stride, as he had been through so much recently with his broken colon. It had been weak most of his life, but after two weeks of hunting on the mountain, and two trips across that mountain in the same day, it just gave way.

Had his colon not given way, there would have been no indication that cancer was working its way into his liver. Had it not given away, there would have been no visit to a faith-healing priest and the miracles that followed. Had it not given away, Tramij would not likely have begun his studies of healing and intuition, and the God within.

No explanation was ever found for the disappearance of his father's cancer, except that Tramij, over the next several years, came to realize that there is a Force that can beat the odds when called upon with faith and then released from continual begging, so that It might do It's job.

The miracles would follow. The father became paranoid and confused no doubt from some of the medical techniques and the thought of dying. Every treatment in the book was thrown at him until his medical doctor/psychiatrist said, "I can help him, but not here at the hospital."

A meeting was held at which the doctor explained that through a new type of electronic acupuncture, father could easily be cured. Within one week, in fact, he was back to normal. After ten treatments he never returned again to that weakened mental state, and although he eventually passed over due to a stroke, seven years after the initial colon break, he had miraculously survived cancer and mental collapse through alternative medical practices.

On the day of his funeral a chime clock in his widow's sitting room decided to stop chiming. Two years later, to the very day of his death, his widow and five children, including Tramij, sat speaking of father, when out of the blue, the clock began to chime.

And so, it matters not what others think. Tramij knows.
